movlyric Reference
movlyric lets you write the three elements that make up the look of a lyric video yourself, in JSON. This reference is the complete specification of those definition formats. Each document is written so that an AI (or a person) reading only that document can write JSON that pastes straight into the app and works.
AnimationSpec
Text motion→
The specification for defining how lyrics enter, exit and move while on screen, using keyframes
GraphicSpec
Background effects→
The specification for defining the shapes and lines (motion graphics) that move behind the lyrics
LayoutSpec
Lyric placement→
The specification for defining where lyrics sit on screen (the layout)
Where to use them in the app
All three are used from “Custom” in the corresponding tab of the style editor.
- Text motion: style editor → “Motion” tab → text motion → “Custom”
- Background effects: style editor → “Background” tab → background effect → “Custom”
- Lyric placement: style editor → “Placement” tab → placement preset → “Custom”
Combine it with AI
Press “Create with AI…” on any custom screen and you can copy a prompt with the specification embedded. Paste it into ChatGPT, Claude or another assistant, tell it what kind of effect you want, and the JSON that comes back works as soon as you paste it back in (the app never talks to an AI directly).
Every specification page on this site also has an “Open the Markdown version” link, so you can use the full specification as a prompt for an AI.
